TSA-compliant locks for luggage

Buying a decent padlock for your luggage?

For added peace of mind, consider a Travel Sentry-approved lock which allows airport security to open luggage for physical inspection
without damaging the lock. Using a normal lock, the security personnel have the right to forcibly remove the lock from the bag and may cause permanent damage.

Airport security use a set of master keys with special codes to open TSA-approved lock and will re-lock the bags after inspection.

TSA-compliant locks, recognised by the United States’ Transportation Security Administration and Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs in the UK, are widely sold at airports, department and hardware stores.

Expect to pay about RM30 for a TSA-approved lock.
