AirAsia X - hello Gatwick, farewell Stansted

It’s confirmed. AirAsia X will switch its London base to Gatwick (LGW) from Stansted in its six weekly flights to the British capital from Oct 24.The budget carrier is offering a promotion all-inclusive one way fare of RM1,039 for travel between Feb 6 and June 20 next year.

Gatwick, about 46km from central London, is the second largest and busiest airport in the UK after Heathrow. It is an important intercontinental hub and is Europe’s leading airport for point-to-point flights.

Gatwick is also the base for British Airways, easyJet, Monarch Airlines, Thomas Cook Airlines and Thomson.
