It’s confirmed. AirAsia X will switch its London base to Gatwick (LGW) from Stansted in its six weekly flights to the British capital from Oct 24.The budget carrier is offering a promotion all-inclusive one way fare of RM1,039 for travel between Feb 6 and June 20 next year.
Gatwick, about 46km from centra
l London, is the second largest and busiest airport in the UK after Heathrow. It is an important intercontinental hub and is Europe’s leading airport for point-to-point flights.
Gatwick is also the base for British Airways, easyJet, Monarch Airlines, Thomas Cook Airlines and Thomson.
